The PLS features a long-term stable, highly precise, capacitive ceramic pressure cell. This cell is extremely robust and insensitive against mechanical overload as well as against aggressive media. The sensor electronics measure pressure and temperature values. Compensating for temperature effects, water density and the specific gravitational force at the measuring site, the sensor delivers highly precise and repeatable actual water levels.

The OTT PLS can be supplied with various outputs for transferring the values to an attached datalogger - the analog 4 ... 20 mA output or the digital SDI-12 or RS-485 outputs. In addition to the waterlevel also the water temperature can be output via the serial interface.

Finally, the OTT PLS is supplied with a high quality and particularly tough stainless steel housing and even the cable for the probe is extraordinarily tough due to Kevlar fibers incorporated. 

• As the OTT PLS is relatively easy and rapid to install even without a stilling well, it is especially suitable for new measuring sites and for locations where float-operated units aren't applicable for example:
• small diameter pipes or holes (from 1')
• stations with sloping bottom, e.g. banks
• waterways that do not contain water throughout the year (e.g. retaining basins or wadis)
